Paint that moves as if it has a will of its own. Planum in Spatio, Latin for plane in space, is a work about the tension between chaos and silence. Navy blue, dusty pink, and burgundy flow into each other, collide, and recede. And then, at the bottom: a block of cream. Raw. Tangible. Silent.

That plane is not an afterthought. It is the core of the work. In a composition that seems to be constantly in motion, the cream block is the only thing that stands still. A flat plane in space, literally and figuratively. It gives the eye a place to land, a moment of rest before it is swept away by the current above.

The name Planum in Spatio refers to that principle: the power of the flat amidst the complex. Not as a weakness, but as a counterbalance. As a conscious choice. In a world full of noise, silence is not emptiness, but presence.

This work was created using the acrylic pour technique. Paint is liquefied and poured over the canvas, after which gravity, movement, and chance determine the composition. No brush. No control. Only trust in the process. The cream block was then applied with a palette knife, thick and expressive, as a deliberate intervention in chance.
