What is abstract art?

Abstract art does not work with recognizable representations of objects or figures. Instead, color, form, line, and composition are central. The work evokes a feeling, an atmosphere, a visual experience. What you see in it is your interpretation. That is precisely its power.

My abstract works range from strictly geometric to freely expressive, from calm color field compositions to colorful paintings with more tension and contrast. Always with an earthy color palette that is timeless and versatile in any interior.

I start each work with a question: what feeling do I want to convey? Not what object do I want to depict. That is the difference between abstract and figurative art, and it is why an abstract painting works so well in a living room. It adapts to the viewer.
